Chapter 1: The Itch

1.2 The Itch: Forensic Science

3 Days later

Hey Dawn it looks like the Black Widow is at it again a tall guy in a forensic uniform said.

Hi Will, so what have you guys discovered so far? She asked.

Well nothing he replied.

Will had met Dawn in the front of the hotel where the murder had occurred and begin to walk her to the elevator. The guy was a hedge fund manager, a husband and a father of three he told her as they stepped in the elevator.

I wonder why these guys keep going home with these strange women; I mean this has been all over the news she said puzzled.

Hey there’s nothing more relentless than a dog trying to get a bone he joked as the elevator stopped and they got off on the 15th floor.

Dawn Malawi was a forensic scientist who also had a degree in criminology and graduated at the top of her class from Harvard. She definitely knew how to get away with murder.  She knew how cops thought and what they looked for when investigating crime scenes. Being the lead forensic scientist she always got to come back and admire her handy work. Dawn reveled in the fact the she left the other investigators stumped. She loved how the cops had no leads they were confused. Men all over the city were scared but it didn’t stop them from taking her home night after night.

She and Will entered the hotel room. There were cops and forensic scientist everywhere.

His carotid artery was completely severed with what looks likes a very shape blade will said.

He was also handcuffed and the cuffs were so tight that it slit his ulnar artery he said.

Just say slit his wrists, you know I hate when you use unnecessary medical terms Dawn replied.

Dawn approached the body that was lying on his back in bed with this hands handcuffed in from of him. He was lying in a pool of dried blood in nothing but his boxer shorts. She could see the bloody wounds on his neck and wrists.

He’s been dead about three days, there was a do not disturb sign on the door so no one came in until he didn’t check out on time he said. The housekeeper found him the little old lady nearly had a heart attack, it took forever to calm her down he told her.

Dawn could see that there were no defensive wounds on the body but she already knew he didn’t fight back. She took him by surprise; he made it so easy with the handcuffs. He loved being tied up and told he was a bad boy. Well he was a very bad boy and mama wasn’t pleased so she slit his throat, his unfaithful lying throat.

What’s the victim’s name? She asked.

Donald Carter, Will stated.

Have you notified the family yet? She asked.

Yeah they will be here tomorrow they had to catch a flight from New York he told her.

I feel so bad for his family Dawn said with a sad look on her face. Those poor kids left without a father and his wife left to raise those kids on her own she added. We have got to find whoever is doing this I just can’t tell another family their father, son or husband is dead she said.

It must be that time of the month Will said with a laugh. You usually don’t get emotional, you’re usually gangsta at the crime scenes he said.

Will you are on a roll today with the jokes, you should be a comedian to bad you aren’t funny Dawn stated.

Chapter 1: The Business

1.2 The Business: Trapped

Tears welled up in Camilla’s eyes she just knew both of her parents were dead. She began to sob softly. She started to hear the intruders rambling through their things. She could hear them throwing and breaking stuff. They were going from room to room destroying everything in sight. Camilla began to tremble with fear. She had no idea what to do and she knew that soon they would make their way to her room. Camilla knew she was going to have to make a run for it if she wanted to live. She sat silently in her bedroom closet waiting for an opportunity to run. She began to hear footsteps coming towards her room and tears started to trickle down her face. She heard as they entered her bedroom. Camilla sat and listened as they went through her dresser drawers. She listened as they knocked her make-up and perfume on the floor. Then she heard the footsteps get closer and closer until they were at her closet door. Camilla inched her way to the back corner of the closet and hid behind her clothes.

A hand reached in the closet and rummaged through her clothing. As the hand pushed the clothing all to one side of the closet Camilla’s hiding place was revealed. A tall burly menacing man looked at Camilla and yanked her out of the closet by her ankle.

Camilla began to scream, “Let me go!”

Boss I found somebody in the closet he yelled.

Camilla continued to scream and swing her arms wildly. Leave me alone! She screamed.

The man slapped her and threw her onto the floor.

Camilla began to cry loudly and yell “Why are you doing this, why did you kill my parents!”

Another man walked into her bedroom he was tall and ruggedly handsome. He had this sinister but sexy look about him. Camilla recognized the man from somewhere, she couldn’t put her finger on it but she knew she knew him. Mr. Bastianelli I found her in the closet hiding the tall burly man said to the ruggedly handsome one. It suddenly came to her, she remembered who he was. Mr. Bastianelli was her father’s boss’s name and the man that had killed her parents was his son, Alejandro. Camilla quickly stopped crying then jumped up from off of the floor and slapped him.

You bastard! She yelled. Camilla hit him over and over again in his face.

Alejandro grabbed both of her wrists and shook her. Stop! He yelled very irritated.

Do you want me to shoot her boss? The other guy asked.

No, Vincent get her clothes and shoes then bring them to the house he said calmly. You’re coming with me Alejandro said.

Then he pulled her out of the bedroom.

Camilla’s face had the look of shock and bewilderment as he dragged her down the stairs of her house and out the front door.

Where are you taking me? She yelled.

Your father owes me money and I’m taking you as payment he told her.

She started to scream, “Help!” and began to punch him in the back of his head.

He turned around angrily and said I will shoot you. Calm down! I’m not going to do anything to you he told her. Look your parents are dead, you’re only sixteen and you can’t stay here alone he said.

They are dead because you killed them she said in tears.

Alejandro opened the door of the Rolls Royce and forced Camilla into the backseat. He slid into the backseat next to her and she just burst into tears. Camilla couldn’t believe what was happening. She was going home with the man who had killed both her parents. He had just taken her like a piece of property to makeup for whatever her father had stolen. This was Camilla’s worst nightmare.

Chapter 1: Terrible Twosome

1.2 Terrible Twosome: The Assignment

Angelica and Daniel glanced over their assignments.

Hell no! Angelica exclaimed. A Go-Go dancer, I’m not doing this she said. Daniel started to laugh. What did you get? She asked Daniel. She looked over and peered into his folder. Bartender! She yelled.

Relax you get to keep your clothes on Mr. Wong said. Okay go ahead; get out of my sight he told them.

As they walked out of the office into the hallway Daniel said I’m driving.

No you’re not, I’m driving and you’re sitting in the backseat she said as she pushed him into the hallway wall.

So abusive, you should really see someone about that you know Daniel stated.

As soon as you see someone about your disorder she said with a grin as she continued walking. What disorder? He asked confused.

You know the one where you can’t help but disgust the opposite sex she told him.

I got you Daniel retorted with a laugh.

Then you lost me! She replied angry and annoyed. I promise I don’t like you Angelica said as they stepped out the front door of Miami Secret Intelligence Headquarters.

Angelica and Daniel got into the black on black Camaro. Angelica buckled her seat belt and put on her shades. This assignment was going to be the hardest they ever had, partly because of their rocky past and partly because Kimura was the most notorious gangster in Miami. He was into sex trafficking, drugs, murder and money laundering. It was so hard to pin anything on him because he was so crafty; Kimura had cops, forensic scientists and judges on his payroll.  It was rumored that he had two undercover cops murdered last year for trying to infiltrate his gang, so Angelica and Daniel knew this wouldn’t be easy.

Agent Bonnie and Clyde were the best undercover agent team at Miami Secret Intelligence Headquarters until two years ago when their team broke up now they couldn’t stand each other. But if they wanted to catch Kimura they were going to have put aside their differences and work together. This was especially hard for Angelica after what had happen between them. Every time she even looked at him it brought up old memories and feelings.

So where are we going? Daniel asked.

The mall, we need disguises she replied.

Look Angie Daniel started.

Angelica cut him off. You can’t call me that anymore she said.

Lets just do our jobs okay he told her. I can’t change the past and you can’t forgive me but lets just do our jobs he said angrily as he turned and stared out the car window.

Angelicas eyes began to tear up behind her shades but she quickly sucked up her feelings and started up the car. She hated him and she couldn’t forgive him for what he had done to her and now she had to work with him to solve this case. What was Mr. Wong thinking putting us together, we are going to end up getting ourselves killed she thought. Angelica turned up the radio she didn’t even want to hear him breath. They sat in silence for the rest of the ride both to afraid to speak to the other one. There is no way this is going to work she is going to get me killed or kill me herself Daniel thought as he glanced at her out the corner of his eye.

Chapter 1: Best Frenemy

1.2 Best Frenemy: By any means necessary

Bartender! Raquel yelled out. What were you drinking? She asked.

Rum and coke Dominic answered.

The bartender walked over to greet them, what can I get for you? He asked.

Let me get Rum and Coke and a Vodka Tonic Raquel replied.

It’ll be right up the bartender said as he took out two glasses and begin to make their drinks.

Thanks but being the gentleman I am I can’t let you buy me a drink; I’ll buy the drinks you just try not to spill it this time he said.

Okay she laughed. So are you dating anyone? She asked.

Um… yes I’m actually about to get engaged he replied.

About too? She asked.

Yeah I haven’t asked her yet, so I guess I should say I might be getting engaged he said with a grin.

I’m sure she’ll say yes, I mean you’re handsome and quite the gentleman Raquel stated as she looked him up and down lustfully with a mischievous grin.

That will be ten dollars the bartender said as he sat their drinks down on the bar.

Dominic reached in his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He handed the bartender a twenty and told him to keep the change.

It was nice meeting you Raquel he said.

Nice meeting you to she replied disappointed.

Dominic proceeded to walk across the dance floor to greet his friends who had left him earlier while he was talking to Raquel. There has got to be some way to get that guy to notice me she thought. He didn’t seem the least bit interested. Well I do need a home alarm system she said to herself. Raquel took out her phone and Googled Dominic Micheli. “Micheli Security” popped up first on the screen along with several clubs in the area he also owned. Raquel began to devise a plan on how she would lure Dominic to her house and seduce him. But she knew that wouldn’t be enough she would have to get her friend out of the picture too. Raquel was very crafty. The name Raquel Evans was synonymous with malicious business tactics in editing and magazine circles. She was known to crush any and everyone who opposed her. This situation was no different to Raquel she would have him by any means necessary.

Raquel! Where have you been? A girl from out of the crowd said. I have been looking for you everywhere, this club is huge she stated.

I came over to the bar to get another drink Raquel replied.

Oh, are you ready to go? She asked. I got to get up early in the morning she added.

Yeah Pamela I’m ready Raquel told her.

Hey isn’t that Aaliyah’s man over there, Dominic? She asked.

I’m not sure, it doesn’t really look like him to me Raquel answered.

Oh Pamela said and brushed it off.

Raquel finished the last sip of her drink then sat the empty glass on the bar. She took one last glance at Dominic and smiled then she and Pamela left the club.

On the ride home all Raquel could think about was how fine and rich Dominic was. She barely said a word to Pamela just the occasional yeah and okay.  She was hooked; Dominic was even better than Aaliyah had said. The fact that he didn’t try to talk to her turned her on even more. He was a good man and everyone knows those are hard to find.

Chapter 1: More Than What We Are

1.2 More than what we are: Opportunity knocking

Buzz!!! The alarm clock rang and Jessica jumped up into a seated position in her bed. She began to rub her eyes as she let out a yawn. Today was the big day she had an interview at one of the biggest record labels in the world. Rockcity Rapland Entertainment had branches in the United States, Canada, India and Korea. They host some of the biggest names in music and film. If Jessica could get a job there she could finally become the writer she always dreamt of being. She could remember siting in her room with her headphones in and the music turned up loud to block out the constant yelling. She would imagine that she was some place else on stage singing her heart out. Jessica would write poetry, songs and short stories all the time, she even carried around a notebook in case she got an impromptu idea. She created a world she could live in on the pages of her notebook to escape her daunting reality.

This is my dream she thought to herself. I could be a famous songwriter like Diane Warren or a billionaire novelist like J.K. Rowling. Jessica rolled out of bed and put on the most professional looking outfit she had in her closet a black pantsuit and a pair of red pumps. Still not fully woken up she stumbled to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face. Then she put her long black hair in a ponytail. She wanted to look sexy but serious so she only wore a red lipstick. She looked in the mirror and said to herself “I look like a real writer.” As she began to walk out her front door she grabbed 5 samples of her writing off the kitchen table and put them into her briefcase.

Jessica had a long way to go to get to Rockcity Rapland’s office in Times Square. Since she had no car and her funds were too low to catch a cab she had to ride the subway. Jessica had to walk four blocks to get to the subway station and by the time she got there her feet were beginning to hurt. She was so happy when she got on the train that she plopped down into the first seat she saw. Jessica didn’t even realize the hot piece of man candy in a suit in the seat next to her. You look tired? A sexy manly voice inquired. Jessica turned to her right to see a dark haired olive skinned attractive businessman. By the looks of his suit, briefcase and Rolex watch he could definitely afford other means of transportation. A little she answered back with a smile. Hi I’m Kash he replied with a smile as he extended his hand. I’m Jessica she said as she shook his hand.

A Fool and His Prize

See past my hair weave

And high heels

Look past my make up and witty lines

See my Afro and my bare feet

Am I still someone you recognize

Because my words sound good

I pretend real well

I speak of Gods love

But I don’t know him for myself

I put myself on a pedestal

I call myself a queen

I adorn myself in name brands

And costume jewelry

I’m highly intelligent watch how I speak

But still I have no substance

I don’t think

I repeat

I tell the world how great I am

Because they can’t see

That’s what I call confidence

To talk not to be

I Hide my flaws well

So I’m deemed fit to judge

But really I’m just a hater

Who’s incapable of love

My likes measure my beauty

My comments measure my success

But they don’t really know me

And I know me less

You can have me

I’m perfect for show

I can upgrade your appearance

And spend all your dough

I’m selfish

I’m trifling

I’m all I can be

But I’m sexy as hell

And that’s all that you see

Chapter 1: Humble Origins

1.2: Humble Origins: Chenoa

Even with all of Ahote’s responsibilities as the successor of his tribe, he remained childish in many ways. His grandfather Namid was continually yelling at Ahote and his best friend Dyami telling them to grow up. Namid’s concerns usually fell on deaf ears until the day Chenoa and her family showed up. Chenoa made Ahote more mature although it was just to impress her. She changed Ahote, not entirely but just enough to impress his grandfather.

Chenoa was a Black Native American from Ft. Lauderdale, FL more specifically a Black Seminole. Her family was members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and lived on the Big Cypress Indian reservation. Chenoa’s blood tribe could shift into animals from the African and Native American tribes. She could change into a leopard, an eagle and a wolf she was the only girl their age that could turn into three animals. She was unparalleled in beauty and skill.

Chenoa’s father had decided to relocate them to Arizona when it became too complicated to conceal their shapeshifting abilities. Chenoa’s little brother Dichali had just turned thirteen, and that was the age a shifter began to change. The change was much more comfortable for the females than the males. Therefore, when Dichali started to go through the transition, they decided to move.

Chenoa had moved to the tribe two years ago, but Ahote still had not told her how he felt about her. Every time he got close to her, he acted like a complete idiot. It seemed that everyone knew how Ahote felt about Chenoa, but Chenoa. Ahote had begun to accept the fact that he had been friend zoned but that did not stop him from fantasizing.

“Ahote!” Namid yelled. “Son get your head out of the sky and bring the cattle in from the pasture!” he yelled.

“Okay, Grandfather I was just about to do that!” Ahote yelled back from the bed of his pick up truck where he and Chenoa lay.

“What are you two doing?” Dyami asked as he rode up on his horse.

“Nothing,” Ahote said annoyed as he jumped down from his truck putting his shirt on.

“Yeah okay.” Dyami grinned. “You look beautiful today Chenoa, that’s an awesome dress,” Dyami said flirting.

“Thanks, Dyami, do you guys need any help?” Chenoa asked as she sat up.

“No, we got it!” Dyami yelled as he followed Ahote to the stable to grab his horse. “So dude what happened?” Dyami asked. “Were you two making out?” he questioned.

“No,” Ahote answered annoyed.

“Come on; you had your shirt off,” Dyami said.

“That’s because it’s hot,” Ahote said as he put the saddle on his horse.

“Seriously?” Dyami said laughing. “Dude I gave you two years to make your move, it’s my turn now,” Dyami said. Ahote gave Dyami an angry stare. “Hey, you can’t hog the prettiest girl in the tribe especially if you are never going to ask her out,” Dyami stated.

“I’m going to ask her out,” Ahote calmly said as he climbed on his horse.

“Okay when?” Dyami asked.

“Tonight,” Ahote stated.

Dyami’s jaw dropped in shock. “You look serious right now,” Dyami said.

“I am,” Ahote replied.

“Okay because I’m your friend and I think you are going to chicken out, I’ll give you one more week to ask her out before I make a move on her,” Dyami said.

“Okay you got a deal, but I promise you I won’t need the entire week.” Ahote grinned. “Yaw!” He yelled as his horse darted out of the stable.

“Hey! I wasn’t ready!” Dyami yelled as he raced to catch up.

If You Don’t Know Me By Now

If you don’t know me by now, then you will never ever know me…. I know that you were thinking it when you read the title. Its funny how an old song by Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes can say so little and say so much. I mean if you don’t know someone after a long time of being around that person you are obviously in denial. You should be able to look at the way people have acted in the past or things they’ve done to let you see what type of person they are, the police do it in investigations to establish a history of behavior. I know people change sometimes but there should be evidence of that too. They say those who don’t know the past are destined to repeat it.

I find the way people look at life very weird. People take everything they’ve learned through their time of existence and in an instance throw it all to the wind for love and companionship and I too am guilty. Love and life isn’t about trust because you never know the thoughts of a person to fully trust them. Life and love is about knowing what people are capable of good or bad. Lets think about people you’ve known for years like your mom. I know that when i was a child if i acted up i could expect a whipping but i knew my mom would never drive me off a bridge, that’s because i know her. Now lets think about a guy you just started dating a month ago, what do you know without a doubt about him? Nothing. I don’t fool myself into thinking that just because you’ve known a person for years their trustworthy though but i do believe that lets you know what type of person they are. There’s an old saying that’s says if you’ll steal, you’ll kill. I use to think that’s the dumbest thing i ever heard but actually it gives you insight on a person’s character. Think of it this way sin is sin, and if a person can get enough courage to take something that doesn’t belong to them and not feel guilty then that leaves the door open for anything. It’s about morals and you either got them or you don’t.

I know we all make mistakes and bad decisions at times but it’s all in how you handle it. If you step on someone’s foot do you apologize or say nothing? If you hurt someone’s feelings do you care or not? Do you continually do things you know are wrong and never feel guilty or try to change or correct yourself? I always tell people i know what i know and nobody can tell me different. I am not being stubborn but you have to stand for something or you will fall for anything. Beware of wolves in sheep clothing’s, just because it walks like duck and quacks like a duck don’t make it a duck nowadays. The Bibles says “For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit”. So basically it can walk like a duck, quack like a duck but if it isn’t birthing duck babies it’s not a duck. Things have to add up and it you find that they don’t you must reevaluate. Two and two doesn’t equal five. I promise you all that glitters isn’t gold and we must not let ourselves be fooled. I’m not going to ask people to trust me because the Bible says put your trust in no man, but if think you know me you should know what I’m capable of.

Most importantly we have to know ourselves. So many people let themselves be defined by what others think of them, especially women. Women often depend on the love or acceptance of a man to give them worth. We constantly search for the approval of people who don’t deserve us, men included. Men and women come and go, so you have to validate yourself. People will be around when you are up but you can only depend on yourself and God when you are down. This is hard fact to accept when you are going through things in your life but its nothing to feel defeated over. It is empowering to find strength within us to move forward and it is an accomplishment that no one can take away from you. Even if people never know who you are keep making sure God does.

Psalm 139:1-4

1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

Chapter 1: Terrible Twosome

1.1 Terrible Twosome: Be Nice

Angelica stepped into her boss’s Mr. Wong’s office and took a seat. He looked furious but he didn’t say a word. He just sneered at her for what seemed like forever. She thought to herself maybe I should say something first and try to explain myself. Sir in my defense agent Jones is totally incompetent she said. First he had to stop for ice cream then he spilled it all over himself and all over the floor. That’s not all when we got eyes on the suspect he slipped in the ice cream, sprained his ankle and we lost him. Then after all that he kept singing and rapping in the car, he didn’t know the words and have you heard his voice? She asked. He’s lucky I didn’t kill him she stated. You broke his nose because he got hurt and has a bad singing voice? He yelled. Well, yeah she whispered. He made us lose the target and come on I barely touched him, are we sure it’s broke? She asked defensively. Quiet! Agent Bonnie, this is the third partner you’ve had this month! He bellowed. You are going to have to control your temper! He shouted. I’m giving you two options he said. You can either take a month off with pay or work with agent Clyde he told her. Can I work alone? She asked. No! He screamed.

Look Agent Bonnie I know you guys have history but you two make a good team he said calmly. I don’t want to take you off this case because we’re so close to catching Kimura but I will, so take it or leave it he said. Angelica thought about it for a second. Clyde severely annoyed her but he wasn’t useless like everyone else, he could at least do his job. Okay, I’ll take it she uttered unhappily. Good he replied. He pressed the intercom on his desk and said, “Send in agent Clyde.”

Agent Clyde walked in with hugest grin on his face. Well. Well. Well he said. I knew you’d come running back, what did you do break an agents arm again? He asked with a smirk as he plopped down in the chair next to her. No his nose she uttered through clenched teeth. Hey, if she breaks my nose or blacks my eye will our insurance pay for reconstructive surgery? He asked.  Also I think I need a raise my face and limbs are in serious danger working with her he stated. Daniel, Can you shut up? She asked with an attitude. What? Are you going to break my nose to? He asked. I might! she yelled. Both of you, quiet! Mr. Wong screamed. I need you two to get along just long enough so we can catch this bastard he told them. Now Kimura just opened a club called “Seven” in the shipping district and we suspect his gang is using it as their headquarters. I need you two to go undercover and find out what he’s up to he said. Here are your aliases he said as he handed them two manila folders.
