I decided to start my post today with this passage I read from the bible. It is easy to lose your way in the life but can’t lose hope. I was sad and this passage gave me hope again and I hope it does the same for you.
2 Corinthians 4:8-18
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
You have to want something out of life. You must have aspirations and goals. If you aren’t fighting for something then you are wasting your life. Aspiration has two meanings the first one is a hope or ambition of achieving something and the second one is the action or process of drawing breath. What that says to me is that if you don’t have hope you aren’t breathing and if you aren’t breathing you aren’t living.
Life is hard and we all get sad sometimes but you have to remain hopefully that things will get better and push through it. I can’t tell you how not to be sad because I don’t know how. I just know that things happen and if you don’t give up they get better. That’s why having hope is important. Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Having hope is knowing that trouble will come but it won’t last. Hope is the thing that keeps you going when everything looks bad. While we should be happy with what we have we should also want more out of life.
Everything is not going to go the way you want it to go but you can’t let disappointment discourage you from believing. Life is going to test your faith and patience at times. There will be grief, pain and tears but just like the bible say sweeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning. What that means is that everything has its season. I know that you have probably heard the saying that God may not come when you want him but he’s always on time. Even though it may not seem like it when you are at your lowest trust those words. God is not a man that he should lie, whatever he has promised you will come to pass you just have to trust his timing.
The loss of hope causes depression. Depression is a low state of mood that can change your thoughts and feelings two things that the bible tells us to protect. What we think meaning our perception has a major affect on our lives. The bible says for as a man thinketh in his heart so is he. That is why the devil goes after your mind and your feelings. If he can get you doubt yourself and God you will do all work of messing up own life. I am here to tell you that as long as you are living you have a chance to turn your life around. Nothing you have done is too horrible for God to fix. No situation is to o dire for him to change.
I know what its like to stay up all night crying and praying for miracle with no answer. I know what its like to get your in situation where no one can help you. I know what its like to think things are over and you want to do is just give up. But God is like the Calvary. The Calvary is a soldier mounted on horseback or moving in motor vehicles or helicopters for missions that require great mobility. A man fighting from horseback had the advantages of greater height, speed over an opponent on foot. You have to fight because God helps those who help themselves. Things are going to get hard and you are going to be disappointed but just when it looks like its over he sends in the Calvary.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
